Archbishop Wojciech Polak establishes Saint Roch Sanctuary in Giewartów

Archbishop of Poland Wojciech Polak established the Archdiocesan Sanctuary of Saint Roch in Giewartów on August 16. The ceremony included a penitential procession and a plenary Mass held in honor of the saint’s annual feast day.

In his decree, Archbishop Polak emphasized that the new sanctuary should provide spiritual resources through the preaching of the Word, formative activities, and the administration of the sacraments, particularly the Eucharist and Penance. During his homily, he highlighted Saint Roch as a symbol of hope and compassion, noting his historical dedication to helping the sick and suffering during times of plague.
