Archdiocese of Juiz de Fora celebrates Saint Thérèse festivities

Parishes and communities within the Archdiocese of Juiz de Fora are preparing to celebrate the feast of Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus on October 1. The festivities include novenas, triduums, processions, and masses across Juiz de Fora and surrounding cities.

In the Metropolitan Cathedral, the novena is scheduled from September 22 to 30. Other regional locations participating in the celebrations include Teixeiras, Bicas, Lima Duarte, Matias Barbosa, and Santa Rita de Jacutinga. Specific events include traditional rose sales, religious articles, and community gatherings.

Saint Thérèse, a Doctor of the Church and Patroness of Missions, is widely venerated for her “Little Way” spirituality, which emphasizes finding holiness in everyday small gestures. Devotees often associate her with the symbol of roses, representing the graces she intercedes for through prayer.
