Archdiocese of Lucca announces ‘Tempo del Creato’ initiatives
The Archdiocese of Lucca is organizing several initiatives as part of the ‘Tempo del Creato’ (Season of Creation), which runs from September 1 to October 4. These activities coincide with the 21st National Day for the Care of Creation.
A central event titled ‘Gocce di pace’ (Drops of Peace) is scheduled for Saturday, September 12, at the Eremo di Calomini. The initiative features a nature walk through the Valle del Serchio landscape, following the course of water to reflect on environmental protection, fraternity, and peace. The program includes a long route starting from Gallicano at 9:00 AM and a shorter route starting from Le Crocette at 10:00 AM.
The day will conclude with a Mass at the Eremo di Calomini presided over by Archbishop Paolo Giulietti. The theme for this year’s observance focuses on transforming resources and territories into tools for generating life and building peace through dialogue and justice.
