Archdiocese of Rio de Janeiro celebrates Priest's Day

The Archdiocese of Rio de Janeiro held a celebration for Priest's Day on August 4, honoring the liturgical memory of Saint John Mary Vianney. The Mass was held at the Church of the Brotherhood of Saint Peter in Rio Comprido and presided over by Cardinal Orani João Tempesta.

The event included the inauguration of the new board of the Brotherhood of Saint Peter for the 2026-2029 term and the reorganization of the board for the Casa do Padre Cardeal Câmara. These actions aimed to strengthen priestly fraternity and support for clergy, particularly those requiring assistance due to age or illness.

Occurring during the Vocational Month, the celebration emphasized the importance of prayer for priestly vocations and the ongoing mission of the Church in the city.
