Archdiocese of Rossano-Cariati announces new pastoral assignments

Bishop Maurizio Aloise of the Archdiocese of Rossano-Cariati has announced a series of new pastoral assignments and parish rotations scheduled to take effect in October 2026. The changes affect various communities across Rossano, Spezzano Albanese, Cariati, Bocchigliero, Campana, Mirto-Crosia, and Corigliano, as well as the San Pio X Regional Seminary in Catanzaro.

Key appointments include Don Giuseppe Straface as parish priest for the Rossano Historic Center Pastoral Unit and Don Claudio Cipolla for the San Paolo parish in the Rossano Scalo urban area. In Spezzano Albanese, Don Gaetano Federico will serve as parish priest for the churches of Ss. Pietro e Paolo and Santa Maria del Carmine, while also acting as rector of the Sanctuary of Santa Maria delle Grazie.

Other notable assignments include Don Viju George as parish administrator in Cariati, Don Enzo Malizia for the Bocchigliero-Campana area, and Don Pietro Madeo as parish priest for the San Francesco d’Assisi community in Mirto-Crosia. The Bishop noted that these transitions are part of the normal life of the Church, intended to meet the needs of Christian communities and the pastoral well-being of the diocese.
