Archer Aviation reports Q2 loss and AI trajectory breakthrough

Archer Aviation reported second-quarter results featuring $5 million in sales and a net loss of $263.2 million. The company expects an adjusted EBITDA loss between $170 million and $200 million for the third quarter. Despite these losses, Archer maintains a strong liquidity position with approximately $1.56 billion in cash, cash equivalents, and short-term investments, which could cover roughly two years of projected losses.

Operating expenses rose 61% year-over-year to $284 million, driven by expanded flight testing, certification efforts for the Midnight eVTOL aircraft, and development of its ZEE aviation artificial intelligence model.

In a technical development, Archer’s ZEE foundation model achieved a breakthrough in predicting real-time aircraft trajectories on airport surfaces. This advancement in predictive safety software is intended to complement the company’s hardware development as it seeks regulatory approval and commercial scaling.
