Archie McDonald wins inaugural Bagger World Cup title
Australian racer Archie McDonald has become the inaugural champion of the FIM Harley-Davidson Bagger World Cup. McDonald, riding for Joe Rascal Racing, secured the title at the season finale held at the Red Bull Ring in Austria.
McDonald finished the season with 202 points, narrowly defeating Oscar Gutiérrez of Niti Racing, who finished with 193 points, and Eric Granado, who ended in third place with 192 points. The championship battle remained competitive until the final races, with Gutiérrez winning the opening race of the weekend and Granado claiming victory in the second race.
Beyond the sporting achievement, the season was marked by significant personal tragedy for McDonald. He dedicated his championship to his late brother, Toby, who passed away by suicide early in the championship season. McDonald described the season as deeply emotional, noting the difficulty of continuing his racing career while navigating profound grief.
