ARCHIP Summer School Explores Concrete and Glass Fusion in Prague
The ARCHIP 2026 Summer School gathered 28 students from the Czech Republic, Poland, Canada, Denmark and Taiwan for an intensive program on the intersection of concrete and glass in architecture. In partnership with architect Federico Díaz (So Concrete), design firm MVRDV and Taiwan’s National Cheng Kung University, participants visited sites such as Bořislavka, matériO’ Prague, SIPRAL, Novotný Glass and Lasvit Nový Bor, and conducted hands‑on experiments in a glass workshop at Dolany nad Vltavou. The curriculum combined studio work, material research and 3D‑printing prototyping, culminating in an on‑site exhibition of the students’ printed samples.
The program aimed to develop new design strategies, test innovative techniques and expand knowledge of 3D‑printed building components that combine concrete and glass.
