Archipelago Hotels expands Indonesian footprint amid tourism growth
Archipelago Hotels is expanding its presence across Indonesia to meet rising tourism demand. Between January and June 2026, foreign tourist arrivals in Indonesia reached 7.45 million, a 5.71% increase from the previous year. Additionally, the accommodation and food and beverage service sector grew by 13.14% in the first quarter of 2026.
To address diverse traveler needs, the company is introducing five properties across Java and Sumatra through two new openings and three rebrandings. These include the Aston Cimone Hotel & Convention Center, Aston Malang Hotel & Conference Center, Nawana by Alana, fave+ hotel Lampung, and fave+ hotel Pamanukan. The portfolio aims to serve business travelers, MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions), families, and leisure travelers.
CEO John Flood noted that Indonesian travelers are increasingly prioritizing quality, comfort, and unique experiences over price alone. He stated that the company aims to develop hotels that meet practical market needs while providing memorable experiences.
