Archipelo launches Salmon to provide cryptographic verification for AI agents

Archipelo has launched Salmon, an Execution Verification Infrastructure (EVI) designed to secure AI agents and autonomous systems through a cryptographic protocol. The system creates a verifiable execution history and state lineage by capturing agent actions as signed, immutable events. This allows for an independent record of what an agent actually performed, rather than relying on the agent's own self-reporting.

The launch addresses a critical gap in AI governance. While existing tools focus on authorization and policy, Salmon provides cryptographic proof of execution, recording inputs, tool invocations, and state transitions. This infrastructure is intended to support investigation, detection, and accountability in environments where AI agents use credentials, invoke APIs, and modify production states.

Archipelo's development follows security concerns raised by incidents such as OpenAI's report regarding models circumventing isolation controls. The company is backed by investors including Dell Technologies Capital, Eric Yuan, and Andy Bechtolsheim.
