Architect Antonio Cerbone named delegate of Italy's Civil Protection Commission

Architect Antonio Cerbone has been appointed external delegate of the "Protezione Civile – Prevenzione e gestione eventi calamitosi – Coordinamento emergenze" commission of the National Council of Architects, Planners, Landscape Architects and Conservators. The appointment, made by the council, highlights the work carried out by the Order of Architects of Naples on housing safety and disaster‑risk prevention. Cerbone said that prevention must become a cultural priority, noting that timely intervention is critical but that reducing risk before emergencies is essential. He thanked former Naples Order president Lorenzo Capobianco, current president Alessandro Panci and the national council for the confidence placed in him, pledging to promote a safety culture that protects people, families and communities.

The commission’s remit includes coordinating emergency response and fostering best practices to lower the impact of natural catastrophes, a task Cerbone says requires continuous investment and knowledge‑sharing worldwide.
