Architect Giannis Aikaterinaris dies at age 85

Architect and prominent political figure Giannis Aikaterinaris has passed away at the age of 85. Born in Polygyros, Chalkidiki, he studied architecture at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

Aikaterinaris was a significant figure in the Greek technical community, having served as President of the Technical Chamber of Greece, Central Macedonia Section (TEE/TKM) from 1999 to 2001. He also held leadership roles in the Association of Architects of Thessaloniki (SATH).

The Technical Chamber of Greece expressed deep sadness over his death, describing him as a man with strong scientific training and a deep belief in the social role of engineers. His political involvement included participation in student movements and activism during the military dictatorship.
