Architect Rodolfo Augusto Bassi found murdered in Argentina
An investigation into the murder of 61-year-old architect Rodolfo Augusto Bassi was triggered by a misspelled WhatsApp message. Bassi’s sister became suspicious after receiving a text that read, ‘Hola, estoy bolviendo de Rosario, Moni. Nos hablamos’, noting the incorrect spelling of ‘bolviendo’.
Following a formal complaint by the family, police located Bassi’s body in an apartment within the Paraná XIV residential complex. The victim had been missing since September 1. The scene revealed that Bassi had been tied to a chair and subjected to torture, with multiple cuts to his body and a fatal head wound caused by a blunt object. Investigators recovered a knife and a mallet at the scene.
Police are currently investigating Carlos Gastón Aguilar, 48, after his vehicle was identified in security footage near the crime scene. While Aguilar has denied involvement, the investigation continues.
