Architects complete residential renovations in Prague and Brno
Architects in Prague and Brno have completed significant residential renovations, focusing on maximizing space and preserving historical elements in urban apartments.
In Prague’s Old Town, Facha architekt undertook a complete reconstruction of a large apartment that had been obscured by layers of old furniture and decor. The project involved uncovering original features and dividing the layout into a spacious main residence and a separate studio. The design balances restored historical elements, such as original doors and window frames, with contemporary interventions like metal shelving and bold color accents in the kitchen and living areas.
In Brno, architects Sausan Haj Abdo and Marta Waloszková redesigned a 67 m² ground-floor apartment to accommodate a family of four. By converting a 2+1 layout into a 3+kk, they utilized a diagonal line to visually expand the space and separate the kitchen from the living area. The renovation emphasized custom furniture, such as a triangular built-in cabinet and a sleeping podium with integrated storage, while restoring original parquet floors and doors.
