Architectural professional bodies in Sicily host anniversary and public engagement events

Architectural professional organizations in Sicily are hosting events to celebrate institutional milestones and promote public engagement.

In Catania, the Order of Architects, Planners, Landscape Architects, and Conservators will mark 70 years of professional autonomy. The anniversary, scheduled for October 11, 2026, at the Le Ciminiere exhibition center, also commemorates the 20th anniversary of the Order's Foundation. The event aims to reflect on the history of the profession since its separation from engineering in 1956 and discuss future responsibilities.

Simultaneously, the national initiative ‘Open! Studi Aperti’ returns on October 9-10, 2026. Under the theme ‘Shared Architecture,’ the program encourages professionals to open their studios to the public to foster dialogue between architects and the community. In Syracuse, the local Order will host an exhibition titled ‘Architettura Condivisa’ to participate in this national movement.
