Architectural studies focus on Vaduz administrative building

Students and researchers from the Liechtenstein School of Architecture (LSA) recently conducted a study of the Post and Administrative Building in Vaduz. Designed by architect Franz Marok between 1970 and 1976, the complex is a significant example of urban planning in Liechtenstein.

The study, part of the ‘POSTHUM’ independent study and the ‘Bauerbe als Ressource’ research project, focuses on the building's history and potential for reuse. As the structure undergoes renovation to become the new Liechtenstein National Library, the existing anodized aluminum facade will be removed. Researchers are investigating whether these existing facade elements can be repurposed for a new cooperative building project in Schaan to promote circular construction and sustainability.
