Architecture and Heritage Symposiums Held in France

The third edition of the Archi Jeunes competition, organized by Valode & Pistre, has announced its winners under the theme of 'Transformations.' The competition awarded six prizes across three sites. In Bonifacio, the 'La Citadelle de la Mer' project by Lilou Lobry, Laura Saison, and Sophie Wauquier won first prize for the reconversion of the Caserne Montlaur. The proposal aims to transform the former military site into a campus for marine biology and maritime professions, repurposing existing structures into dormitories, laboratories, and a scientific documentary center.

Separately, the Laboratoire Interdisciplinaire Solidarités, Sociétés, Territoires (LISST) hosted the 'Patrimoine en réseaux' colloquium at the Manufacture des Tabacs. The event featured workshops focused on indigenous cultural heritage, the ethics of heritage knowledge, and the co-construction of digital collections. Discussions included topics such as decolonizing heritage knowledge, African epistemologies of ownership, and the digitization of Kanak heritage.
