Architecture Day festival focuses on affordable housing

The Architecture Day festival has launched its seventh edition under the motto ‘I live, therefore I am,’ focusing on the theme of affordable housing. The program includes various architectural sites and historical tours across the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

In Karlovy Vary, events include tours of the Villa Irene, a presentation on the history of the Tuhnice district, and a look into the future of the Rybáře area, where a new urban district is planned on a former brewery brownfield. A lecture regarding the city’s historical elevators is also scheduled.

Other festival highlights include visits to the Ďáblice housing estate in Prague and the Baťa houses in Zlín.
