Architecture workshops and educational initiatives in South America

In Santa Fe, Argentina, the “Chiquitectos” workshop, led by architects Jesica Ferrero and María Noel Limonta from the Universidad Nacional del Litoral, provides an educational experience for children aged 8 to 11. The program uses play, material exploration, and model building to teach concepts of architecture, urbanism, and sustainable development, aiming to foster creativity and problem-solving skills.

In Santiago, Chile, Uruguayan architect Pedro Livni conducted a workshop titled “Arquitecturas de pasaje” at the Universidad Diego Portales. The workshop focused on urban renewal strategies through the transformation of consolidated city blocks, using the Barrio Universitario as a case study. Livni, who also teaches at the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella in Buenos Aires, discussed his architectural methods and the concept of “gray spaces” that exist between public and private realms.
