Archuleta School District reports improved academic performance
The Archuleta School District (ASD) in Colorado has reported significant academic progress based on the 2026 Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS), PSAT, and SAT assessment results. All schools within the district earned a Performance rating, and the district maintains its status as Accredited.
Data indicates sustained student growth in several areas. Students in grades 3–8 have demonstrated growth at or above the state average in both English Language Arts (ELA) and Math for the past three years. Notably, 4th-grade proficiency increased by 14% in ELA and 16% in Math compared to the previous year. At the high school level, average SAT scores in both Math and Evidence-Based Reading and Writing have increased, exceeding the state average for the first time in five years.
Superintendent Rick Holt attributed these improvements to high-quality instruction, strong curriculum, and a cell phone policy designed to minimize distractions and enhance the learning environment.
