Arco hosts World Climbing Youth Championship with 725 athletes from 68 nations
The World Climbing Youth Championship will take place in Arco, Italy, from 18 to 25 July 2026. The event, held at the Arco Climbing Stadium within the FASI Technical Center, expects 725 athletes representing 68 delegations, plus coaches, officials and staff, bringing the total official participants to over 960. Competitions will cover Lead, Speed and Boulder across Under‑17 and Under‑19 categories, with a strong focus on sustainability and modern facilities.
Italy will field a large home team of 28 climbers and 11 support staff. Venezuela’s youth climbing squad, comprising four athletes (three women and one man), will also compete, having completed 180 hours of technical training and extensive physical assessments. The Venezuelan climbers include 14‑year‑old Amanda Medina (U‑17) and senior athletes Sara Noriega, Camila Belandria and Abraham Nieves (U‑19).
