Arcos Dorados meets sustainability bond goals and boosts youth employment in Latin America
Arcos Dorados, the franchise operator of McDonald’s in 21 Latin American and Caribbean countries, announced it has fulfilled the environmental commitments linked to its Sustainability‑Linked Bond. For the period ending 31 December 2025, the company reduced its direct greenhouse‑gas emissions by 26.5%—nearly double the 15% target—and cut value‑chain emissions by 16.1%, surpassing the 10% goal. This achievement coincided with the opening of more than 300 new restaurants and continued sales growth.
In its 2025 Social Impact and Sustainable Development Report, Arcos Dorados highlighted its contribution to formal youth employment. In Argentina alone, the firm created 13,246 training and job opportunities, employing over 14,000 people, with 61.3% under the age of 24. Region‑wide, the company delivered 351,900 training instances and logged more than 2.1 million training hours. Inclusion initiatives also placed 132 people with disabilities in its workforce and expanded platforms such as the free MCampus educational program.
