Arctic beauty trends focus on cool tones and skin-icing

New beauty trends for the winter season are shifting toward a cool-toned aesthetic known as ‘Arctic Make-up’. According to Pinterest’s 2026 trend analysis, there is a significant increase in searches for looks featuring shimmering finishes, silver accents, and icy blue tones, reminiscent of late 90s and early 2000s aesthetics.

Key elements of the Arctic look include ‘glass skin’ with cool highlights like silver or champagne, metallic accents such as silver eyeliner, and frosted lips with pearlescent shimmer. To achieve a sophisticated result, the trend emphasizes hydrated, fresh bases rather than heavy, matte foundations.

In tandem with these visual trends, the ‘skin-icing’ method is gaining popularity. The brand Schaebens has introduced new facial masks designed to be stored in the freezer for six to eight hours before application. This cold treatment aims to constrict superficial blood vessels to reduce swelling and create a firmer, fresher complexion. The product line includes variations for ultra-hydration, glowing skin, and anti-aging.
