Arcturus Vision Camera enhances Steam Frame passthrough

The Arcturus Vision Camera has been released as a high-quality add-on module for the Steam Frame headset, designed to significantly enhance its passthrough capabilities. The device connects via a hidden expansion port located under the nose bridge and functions as a plug-and-play solution that does not require a headset restart.

Key technical improvements include a resolution of up to 6MP and a frame rate of 60 FPS. These upgrades provide a much clearer and more colorful visual experience compared to the default Steam Frame passthrough, which is described as monotone and low resolution. The improved clarity allows users to perform tasks such as reading a phone screen while using the headset.

The module is noted for its compact size, weighing only 10 grams, and its relatively accessible price point of $150. Additionally, the camera supports high-quality spatial video recording, which can be viewed on other devices via a free Arcturus application.
