ARD ends 'Immer wieder sonntags' show, Nicole urges fans to demand a revival

The German public broadcaster ARD announced that the long‑running Schlager program ‘Immer wieder sonntags’ will be discontinued after the current season, ending a series that began in 1995 and has been hosted by Stefan Mross since 2005.

Former Eurovision winner Nicole expressed her disappointment, describing the cancellation as “sehr, sehr schade” and said she does not know if the decision was the right one. She called on the show’s audience to contact ARD and voice their disapproval, adding that a replacement programme might still be possible. Stefan Mross has also indicated that talks with private broadcasters about a successor are under way.

Both artists hope that fan pressure could lead the broadcaster to reconsider or to launch a new format to continue serving the show’s dedicated audience.
