ARD series In aller Freundschaft airs tribute to actor Rolf Becker

The ARD medical drama “In aller Freundschaft” will air a special farewell episode dedicated to the late actor Rolf Becker. Becker, who passed away on December 12, 2025, at the age of 90, had been a staple of the series since 2006, appearing in more than 300 episodes as Otto Stein, the father of Dr. Martin Stein.

The tribute episode, titled “Manchmal muss man kein Arzt sein,” is scheduled to air on October 20 at 9 p.m. on Das Erste. The plot follows characters gathering after Otto’s funeral at his former home.

Beyond his television work, Becker was a prominent figure in the Hamburg theater scene, performing at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus and the Thalia Theater. He was also recognized for his social and political engagement in the St. Georg district of Hamburg.
