ARD Summer Cinema to conclude with “Der Buchspazierer” premiere

The film adaptation of Carsten Henn’s bestseller “Der Buchspazierer” (The Book Walker) will make its free-to-air television premiere on ARD, marking the conclusion of this year’s ARD Summer Cinema program.

Based on the novel that was sold in 29 countries, the story follows Carl Kollhoff, a reclusive literature lover played by Christoph Maria Herbst, who delivers selected books to customers on demand. The film, which drew nearly 680,000 viewers to theaters in 2024, received recognition for Herbst, who won the Bavarian Film Award for his performance.
