Arda Turan in talks to manage Turkish national team

Shakhtar Donetsk manager Arda Turan is reportedly in advanced negotiations to become the head coach of the Turkish national team. Following Shakhtar's 3-0 victory over Veres, Turan traveled to Istanbul to meet with Turkish Football Federation President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu.

Reports indicate that a delegation from the Turkish federation has traveled to London to initiate formal discussions. The group is expected to attend the upcoming Champions League League Phase match between Shakhtar Donetsk and AEK Athens at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday, October 14, with a decisive meeting planned immediately following the game.

Turan addressed the rumors during a press conference, expressing that being linked to the national team is a “great honor” and noting his deep pride in representing his country. However, he also suggested that as a young coach, it might be beneficial to continue his professional development abroad to better represent Turkey on the global stage.
