Ardahan quarantine implemented after rabies found in livestock

A quarantine has been implemented in the Gürçayır neighborhood of Ardahan, Turkey, following a confirmed rabies case in livestock. After a large animal at a local business showed signs of illness, samples were sent to the Erzurum Veterinary Control and Research Institute.

Upon receiving a positive test result, the animal was culled. The Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry has initiated measures to protect both animal and human health, while the Department of Animal Health, Breeding, and Fisheries is working to determine the extent of the disease's spread in the area.
