Ardbeg introduces first permanent 15-year-old core range whisky

Ardbeg Distillery has announced the addition of Ardbeg Trudernish to its core range, marking the brand's first permanent 15-year-old single malt Scotch whisky. The expression is inspired by the ancient settlement of Trudernish on the east coast of Islay.

The whisky is matured for at least 15 years in a combination of bourbon, new charred oak, and Oloroso sherry casks. It features an alcohol by volume (ABV) of 48.8% and is produced without colorants or chill-filtration. According to Director of Whisky Creation Dr. Bill Lumsden, the long maturation process is intended to balance the distillery's characteristic peat smoke with creamy, sweet aromas such as vanilla and fudge.

Alongside this new release, Ardbeg is introducing a redesigned look for its entire core range. The new packaging, which will roll out globally starting in autumn 2026, features classic black presentation boxes with unique earthy accent colors and woodcut-style illustrations to differentiate each expression.
