Ardennes real estate market sees slight sales slowdown in 2026

The real estate market in the Ardennes region of Belgium has experienced a slight slowdown in the first half of 2026. According to the latest real estate barometer from the Fédération du notariat belge (Fednot), the number of sales decreased by 1.5% compared to the same period in the previous year.

This deceleration follows an exceptional first half of 2025, which saw a 15.4% surge in sales. Notary spokesperson Frédéric Dumoulin noted that this minor decline is not a cause for concern regarding the region's attractiveness, emphasizing that the 2025 figures were an outlier compared to previous years.

Property prices have also seen a significant moderation. After a sharp increase of 14.2% between 2024 and 2025, the median price for a house in the Ardennes rose by only 1.4% in the first half of 2026, reaching 220,000 euros. This remains below the Walloon median price of 233,000 euros.
