Arditurri Greenway offers family-friendly hiking in Gipuzkoa

The Vía Verde de Arditurri is a 12-kilometer cycling and hiking route located in Gipuzkoa, Spain. The path follows an old railway line that once transported minerals to the port. The route is fully paved and largely flat in its initial sections, making it accessible for walkers, cyclists, skaters, and individuals with reduced mobility.

As the trail progresses from the Lezo and Pasaia areas through Errenteria, the terrain transitions from paved surfaces to natural landscapes along the Oiartzun River. The route includes seven tunnels, one of which belonged to the former Artikutza timber railway.

The trail concludes at the Arditurri Mining District at the foot of the Aiako Harria granite massif. This site features a mining exploitation that operated for over 2,000 years, from Roman times until the mid-20th century. Visitors can access illuminated underground galleries through guided tours at the Interpretation Center.
