Switzerland defeats North Macedonia 3-0 in Nations League opener

Switzerland secured a 3-0 victory against North Macedonia in their UEFA Nations League opening match at the Toše Proeski Arena in Skopje. Zeki Amdouni was the standout performer, scoring two goals in the 42nd and 74th minutes, while Remo Freuler opened the scoring in the 22nd minute following an assist from Amdouni.

In the absence of captain Granit Xhaka and Denis Zakaria, Ardon Jashari stepped into a central midfield role. Jashari, playing in front of his family, received praise from coach Murat Yakin for his performance as a playmaker and defensive engagement, despite Yakin noting some instances of rushed decision-making.

North Macedonia struggled to find the net, marking their fifth consecutive match without scoring. The match also featured a VAR review that overturned a direct red card for Matej Gashtarov, downgrading it to a yellow card.
