Ardova Plc–Diadem Energy consortium to build 100 CNG sites in Nigeria

The Ardova Plc–Diadem Energy consortium has announced plans to establish 100 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) refuelling sites across Nigeria within the next 24 months. The initiative aims to mitigate refuelling shortages and increase gas accessibility for motorists and commercial fleets.

This expansion follows a consortium agreement to acquire Powergas, a major African producer and distributor of compressed natural gas, from the Africa Infrastructure Fund I. The acquisition, which is expected to be finalized by the end of 2026, will integrate Powergas’s compression infrastructure and industrial customer base with Diadem’s virtual pipeline logistics and Ardova’s nationwide retail and distribution network.

The project is intended to support Nigeria’s domestic gas utilization goals by expanding compression capacity across gas-producing corridors, reducing gas flaring, and encouraging investment in the gas value chain. The consortium also expressed intentions to eventually extend this platform into the broader West African market.
