Arduview transparent handheld gaming console announced

Developer Louis Huang has announced Arduview, a handheld gaming console claiming to be the world’s first fully transparent device. Unlike previous transparent electronics that only feature clear shells, Arduview utilizes a transparent OLED screen and a transparent circuit board, allowing users to see the internal components clearly.

Built on the open-source Arduboy platform, the device is powered by an ATmega32u4 microcontroller and comes pre-installed with 400 8-bit games. The hardware features a USB-C interface for charging and data transfer but does not support Wi-Fi or an app store. The device is expected to weigh approximately 50 grams.

Arduview is scheduled to launch a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter next year. A founder’s special price of $49 is planned, with a $5 refundable deposit available to lock in the rate. The standard retail price is expected to be $100.
