AREBI South Sulawesi holds first property broker competency certification

The Indonesian Real Estate Broker Association (AREBI) Regional Leadership Council of South Sulawesi has conducted its first on-site competency certification testing in Makassar. This initiative responds to Ministry of Trade Regulation (Permendag) Number 33 of 2025, which mandates official certification for property intermediary service providers.

Due to the industry's risk profile being reclassified from low to medium-high starting in October 2025, competency standards have increased from 17 to 24 units of the Indonesian National Work Competency Standards (SKKNI). The certification is divided into two categories: Property Broker (BP) for marketing personnel and Member Broker Property (MBP) for agency office owners.

The initial session in Makassar included 74 participants from 11 property agencies. Nationally, the Ministry of Trade aims to certify 5,000 workers this year, with over 2,000 already having passed competency tests across various regions in Indonesia.
