Areia Branca: Man and 5-year-old son found dead in home

A man and his 5-year-old son were found dead inside a residence in Areia Branca, Rio Grande do Norte, on Monday morning. The victims, identified as João Paulo and his son, were discovered by the child's grandmother.

Preliminary investigations by the Civil Police indicate that the deaths likely occurred on Sunday night. Both victims showed signs of violence consistent with injuries from a sharp object, and a weapon was found near the bodies. There were no immediate signs of forced entry into the home.

The child reportedly shared custody with his mother and spent periods at the residence. Local authorities, including the Military Police and Scientific Police, secured the scene and conducted forensic examinations. The bodies were transported to the Medical Legal Institute in Mossoró for further analysis as investigators work to determine the motive and identify any suspects.
