Indonesia Super League 2026/2027 season kicks off with mixed results

The 2026/2027 BRI Super League season has commenced in Indonesia, featuring a variety of opening match results and regulatory developments.

In match action, Bali United secured a 2-1 victory over PSS Sleman, while Persija Jakarta defeated Borneo FC 1-0. Persik Kediri suffered a 0-1 loss to Dewa United, and Persita drew 1-1 against PSIM Yogyakarta. Persebaya Surabaya held a 1-0 lead over Bhayangkara FC at halftime in their matchup.

Off the pitch, Isenmulang Kalteng FC and Java United FC have been penalized with a two-point deduction by the I League operator. This sanction stems from changing their home stadiums after the 2025/2026 Club Licensing Cycle had concluded, failing to meet established infrastructure criteria.

Looking ahead, Persib Bandung is set to face PSM Makassar at the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium. Persib enters the match as the three-time defending champion, while PSM Makassar debuts a new coaching staff under Darije Kalezic.
