Arena di Verona Opera Festival hits record revenue and attendance

The 103rd Arena di Verona Opera Festival has concluded its longest edition to date, running for 51 performances from June 5 to September 12. The festival achieved record-breaking economic results, earning approximately 37 million euros, an increase of about 1.5 million euros compared to the previous season.

Attendance reached 416,600 spectators, marking a significant increase in the Italian audience, which grew by 24% to 180,902 people. While international visitors still comprise 57% of the total audience from 131 countries—with Germany being the largest foreign market—the festival saw notable growth in spectators from the United Kingdom, the United States, and Austria.

To attract younger demographics, the festival has integrated modern elements. Approximately 11% of the audience was under the age of 30. This shift includes immersive orchestral experiences produced by Balich Wonder Studio, which pair live performances with large-scale 3D projections and cinematic visuals. Additionally, new productions, such as a collaboration with the Moulin Rouge in Paris, have contributed to the festival's success.
