Arena Fonte Nova to launch dedicated space for autistic fans in 2027

Arena Fonte Nova in Salvador has announced the creation of ‘Arena TEA’, a dedicated space designed for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families. Scheduled to become operational at the start of the 2027 season, the project is currently in the implementation phase, including testing protocols to ensure effective service.

The facility is being developed using neuroarchitecture principles to mitigate sensory overload common in large crowds. Key features include acoustic insulation, neutral color palettes, facilitated circulation, and a ‘Calm Room’ (Sala Calma) for individuals experiencing sensory overload.

To support users, the stadium will partner with Instituto Vivência, a specialized institution providing trained professionals and instructors. The staff will include experts capable of crisis management using the PCM system. Access to the Arena TEA will require the purchase of specific tickets dedicated to the space.
