Arena Pantanal draws over 1,400 visitors as new tourist attraction in Mato Grosso

More than 1,400 people have taken the free guided‑tour program at Cuiabá’s Arena Pantanal, turning the stadium into a leading cultural and tourism site in Mato Grosso. In the past two months roughly 850 visitors explored emblematic areas such as the Honours Tribune, the Press Box, locker rooms and the pitch, and tried the “Chute a Gol” shooting challenge.

Guides report strong reactions: “Visitors are amazed to sit where famous players were interviewed,” said guide Isabelle Vitória. The programme, run by the State Secretariat of Culture, Sport and Leisure, targets tourists in the early months of the year and schoolchildren and community‑project participants once classes resume. It also includes accessibility provisions for people with disabilities.

The project received a donation from the Brazilian Football Confederation – the ball and a signed jersey from the women’s national team’s victorious match against Canada – which are now on display. Tours last 50‑70 minutes, run Tuesdays and Thursdays for groups of up to 20, and can be booked via the MT Cidadão app, the Secretariat’s website, WhatsApp or email.
