Arequipa begins road works amid traffic accident on Avenida Dolores

The Provincial Municipality of Arequipa has initiated road maintenance works on Avenida Dolores and Avenida Vidaurrazaga. The project involves removing existing pavement and sidewalks to install new structures and replace asphalt with cobblestones. The estimated timeframe for completion is 60 days, though officials suggest it may finish sooner. To manage high traffic volumes during construction, transport inspectors have been deployed to the area.

Separately, a traffic accident occurred at the intersection of Avenida Dolores and Los Incas. A collision between a white Tico and a blue vehicle resulted in several injuries, including two minors and an elderly person. One vehicle struck the infrastructure of the Iglesia del Carmen. Emergency responders, including paramedics and firefighters, attended to the victims, and police are investigating the cause of the crash.
