Arequipa educators receive Palmas Magisteriales 2026 honors
Two educators from Arequipa, Peru, have been awarded the Palmas Magisteriales 2026, the highest honorary distinction granted by the Peruvian state to teaching professionals. The Ministry of Education formalized the awards through ministerial resolutions published in the official gazette, El Peruano.
Jackeline Karina Sevairos Pérez received the distinction in the 'Educador' category, which recognizes public sector teachers with at least 15 years of direct classroom service. Jorge Luis Torres Loayza was honored in the 'Maestro' category for his academic production, research, and impact on school management and learning improvement.
