Arequipa election results show virtual mayors for several districts

As the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE) nears a 100% count of tally sheets in several districts of Arequipa, the electoral landscape for the 2027-2030 period is beginning to take shape.

In Cerro Colorado, Mirtha Mavel Ruelas Casillas of the Ahora Nación (AN) party is the virtual mayor with 30.5% of the votes. Ruelas, the current mayor of Yura on leave, would lead the most populous district in the Arequipa province.

In the Yura district, Luis Javier Fuentes Salas of the Movimiento Regional Arequipa Avancemos is the virtual mayor with 21.084%. The race remains competitive, with Julio José Fuentes Barriga of the Perú Primero party following closely. Results are also trending toward definitions in the districts of Cayma, La Joya, Yanahuara, and Majes.
