Ares beach youth clash under investigation

Police opened an investigation after a confrontation between two groups of young people on the urban beach of Ares on 28 July. The altercation, which was recorded and spread on social media, escalated from a verbal dispute to a physical struggle, prompting intervention by local beachgoers and the Ares municipal police.

The Guardia Civil confirmed that no one required medical assistance and that no serious injuries were reported. A new complaint was filed on 29 July at the Ferrol‑Narón police station, and investigators are gathering statements to clarify the incident and its background, which traces back to a prior episode in nearby Fene that led to a complaint by a minor. Authorities emphasized that the clash was an isolated dispute and did not threaten public safety, though some residents have called for increased police presence during the summer peak season.
