Arese Pharma receives R$ 20 million in BNDES financing

Arese Pharma has received R$ 20 million in financing approved by BNDES to support its manufacturing unit in Valinhos, São Paulo. The investment is earmarked for research, development, and innovation (PD&I) infrastructure, including the acquisition of laboratory equipment and the hiring of specialized technical services.

The project aims to develop two new medications—specifically antidepressants and anti-inflammatories—whose active ingredients are not currently available on the Brazilian market. Additionally, the company plans to introduce four incremental innovations to existing drugs, creating new administration methods tailored for children and the elderly to improve patient adherence and safety.

The initiative is expected to create 45 direct jobs, including five positions in research and development. BNDES President Aloizio Mercadante noted that the operation provides treatment alternatives not currently available in the country and invests in the innovative capacity of the Brazilian pharmaceutical industry.
