Aresep launches initiatives to improve public services in Costa Rica’s Chorotega region

The Public Services Regulatory Authority (Aresep) is launching initiatives to improve public service delivery in Costa Rica’s Chorotega region. Following a diagnostic study of water, electricity, gas, and bus transport services, Aresep is engaging with local leaders and social organizations in Liberia and Nicoya to develop a roadmap for improvement.

Key proposed actions include strengthening water service operators (ASADAS), modernizing the regional electrical grid for better resilience, and establishing a regional inspection program for LPG safety. Additionally, the authority aims to improve public transport planning through technical tables and launch a communication strategy to educate users on their rights and duties regarding regulated services.
