Aretuza Lovi releases new album ‘Calor Nacional’

Singer and drag queen Aretuza Lovi has released her new album, ‘Calor Nacional’, marking 15 years in her career. The nine-track project explores various pop styles integrated with Brazilian rhythms, aiming to celebrate national culture and diversity.

The album features several collaborations, including Linn da Quebrada, Lexa, Romero Ferro, and Katy da Voz e as Abusadas. Lovi described the work as a way to reclaim a sense of belonging and pride in Brazilian identity.

In addition to the musical release, Lovi addressed the Brazilian political landscape, criticizing ‘bolsonarismo’ and expressing concern regarding the potential rise of the far-right. She emphasized that for LGBTQIA+ artists, making music in a homophobic environment serves as a political act of resistance.
