Arezzo court orders salon to pay 9,000 euros for botched hair treatment
An Italian court has ordered a hair salon in Arezzo to pay approximately 9,000 euros in damages to a 50-year-old customer following a botched hair coloring treatment.
The incident occurred in April 2023 when the woman sought to cover her gray hair. According to the ruling by Judge Lucia Faltoni of the Arezzo Civil Chamber, the coloring at the hair roots was defective, resulting in hair that was described as dry, frizzy, and “completely unruly.”
To recover from the damage, the victim had to undergo a lengthy process of gradually cutting her hair as it grew back, as advised by a trichologist. The awarded sum is intended to cover both the damages suffered and legal costs.
