Arezzo: Enpa files complaint over wolf killings and shootings
The National Animal Protection Agency (Enpa) in Arezzo has filed a formal complaint with the Public Prosecutor's Office following a series of violent incidents involving wolves in the province.
In one instance near Molinelli, a wolf was found with a severe head wound. Despite veterinary intervention, the animal died after 15 days of suffering. Investigations revealed the injury was caused by a gunshot, occurring in a populated area outside of the legal hunting season.
Additional incidents include a wolf found dead in Pieve al Toppo; while the animal had died from wild boar bites, examinations revealed multiple pellets in its body. Another female wolf was also found severely injured by pellets after being struck by a vehicle on the SR71. Enpa is working with the Regional Task Force and the Carabinieri Forestali to investigate these acts of violence against wildlife.
